Central Indiana's newest MRF — built for the people who build Indiana.

Salty Dog Trash & Recycling proudly opened its Material Recovery Facility in November 2025 — a purpose-built C&D recycling facility serving contractors, haulers, and construction professionals across Madison County and greater Central Indiana. We partnered with IDEM to responsibly increase Indiana’s recycling rate, and we built this facility to make compliance easy, affordable, and local.

New to Material Recovery?

What is a Material Recovery Facility?

A Material Recovery Facility — or MRF — is a specialized processing site that receives, sorts, and prepares recyclable and recoverable material so they can be diverted from landfills and reused as raw materials. Rather than sending your construction and demolition debris straight to a landfill, an MRF like Salty Dog’s recovers usable material — reducing disposal costs, supporting sustainability goals, and keeping Indiana cleaner.

Why Salty Dog's MRF?

A real recycling partner.

We’re a locally owned, family-run business in Anderson, Indiana, built specifically for construction and demolition debris — not general recycling. That focus means faster processing and better diversion rates, backed by a team that actually understands your industry. We work directly with IDEM to keep every load compliant, and our facility supports LEED documentation for green building projects needing verified diversion credits.

We know the contractors, haulers, and builders in this region personally — and we treat every load like it matters.

HOW DOES MRF WORK?
